Where is St. George located?

St. George is located in the southwest corner of Utah just off Interstate 15. St. George is 119 miles north of Las Vegas, Nevada and 303 miles south of Salt Lake City, Utah. St. George is known as the “Gateway” to National Parks such as Zion’s National Park, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, and many more beautiful state parks.
What is the population of Washington County?
The Washington County population is estimated to be over 200,000 people and growing. In 2007, St. George became one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas within the United States. Since then, growth slowed substantially but still continues to attract more people every year.

 

What is the weather like in St. George, Utah?

Washington County is endowed with mild, low humidity winters with over 300 sunny days per year. The desert climate, elevation 2,760 feet, promotes year round recreation and leisure activities, which includes ten championship golf courses. Winter temperatures regularly reach 60 degrees Farenheit. In January, the average daytime high temperature is 54 degrees while the average nighttime low temperature dips to 26 degrees. In July, the average daily high temperature is 102 with very low humidity, while the average nightly low is 67 degrees. Spring and fall days are normally pleasant with highs in the low 70s and 80s. It only receives 8.27 inches of annual precipitation. Snow is rare and usually melts quickly.

 

What is the crime rate in St. George?

Crime is very low in St. George with very few incidents occurring per year. The Farmers Insurance Group of Companies in 2010 released its third annual ranking of top 20 ‘Most Secure U.S. Places to Live’. St. George in Utah topped all small cities with populations of 150,000 or fewer in the survey. It also has the lowest crime rates of all the 379 communities surveyed.

 

What is the predominant religion among SunRiver residents? In St. George?

In SunRiver, 50% of our sales come from 20 different non-western states, so religious affiliations are very diverse. In St. George, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS or “Mormon”) is the dominant religion, although both Catholic and Protestant denominations are well represented.

 

What is there to do for evening entertainment?

Tuacahn Center for the Arts, a local outdoor amphitheater, features Broadway-themed productions in the summer, as well as a concert series throughout the year. Cedar City Shakespeare Festival and Tanner Amphitheater in Zion’s offer great seasonal shows and concerts, as well. There are also local venues such as the St. George Musical Theater or Dixie State College productions at the Cox Auditorium or Eccles Theater. St. George offers 5 movie theaters, 2 bowling alleys, mini-golf, and many great restaurants & shopping centers in which to choose. St. George is less than 2 hours from Las Vegas and 30 minutes from Mesquite, NV where many residents go for gambling & shows.

 

What types of outdoor activities are offered in Southern Utah?

St. George is known as the gateway to over six national parks: Arches, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, Grand Canyon, Zions, and Lake Powell as well as many state parks. How is the medical service in St. George?

Excellent! Dixie Regional Medical Center offers emergency services, in-patient and outpatient care, a broad staff of qualified doctors in virtually any capacity needed. Dixie Regional Medical Center is a 245-bed hospital located on two campuses – River Road and 400 East. Located in St. George, Utah, Dixie Regional Medical Center is the major medical referral center for northwestern Arizona, southeastern Nevada and southern Utah. They have been recognized as a Thompson Top 100 Heart Hospital and their Cardiac Rehabilitation program is nationally certified. They partner with the Huntsman Cancer Institute to provide world-class cancer care for patients close to home.

 

How close is the airport from SunRiver?

The St. George City Municipal Airport is located just 15 miles east of SunRiver (SunRiver, however, is not in the flight path). It is a brand-new facility that accommodates smaller jet engines and prepares St. George for further growth and expanded services. The airport has one runway on a 1,203-acre facility which holds a 35,000 square foot terminal. Las Vegas is the nearest current hub for extended air travel.

 

Where do people who reside in SunRiver move from?

SunRiver residents represent the majority of all 50 states, with a few from other countries. From inception the majority of SunRiver residents move from northern Utah, California, or the mid-west. However, in 2010, 50% of our sales came from 20 different non-western states, which speaks to the diversity of SunRiver St. George.

We offer a Ballroom, Billiard Room, Community Center, Computer Lab, Fitness Room, Game Room, Horseshoe Pits, Lapidary Center, Lawn Bowling, Library, Multi-Purpose Room, New Fitness Center, Pickle Ball Courts, Pools, Pottery Studio, Tennis Courts, and a Woodworking Shop.

 

Is there a charge to attend classes or use the above-mentioned amenities?

No, all activities are paid for by your HOA and do not require any additional fees.

Is the SunRiver St. George Golf Course a Public Course?

Yes, the SunRiver Golf Course is a Public Course with preferential rates and tee times for SunRiver residents. What are the Riverwalk Grill hours?

They are open Monday through Thursday 8am-8pm, Friday-Saturday 8am-9pm, Sunday 8am-7pm. Reservations are welcome, but not always necessary.

 

What is the average age of SunRiver residents?

The average age is between 64 and 68 years of age.

 

Are pets allowed?

Yes. Domestic animals are welcome. SunRiver even has a dog park!

 

Are the Vacation Villas available to rent?

No. The Vacation Villas are only available to future SunRiver Residents, so they can experience the SunRiver St. George Lifestyle.

 

Is SunRiver St. George involved in the Huntsman World Senior Games?

SunRiver St. George is a sponsor of the Huntsman World Senior Games held each October and hosts several events at our facilities. Many residents participate and some even hold medals from this exciting event!


What is the size range of SunRiver homes?

Homes in SunRiver range from the smallest 1100 square feet, to over 4,000 square feet.

 

Does SunRiver have a preferred lender?
