Bringing family close to home
August 30th, 2010 by Dalan Madsen No comments »For three years now, Dot Foster has been dreaming of Sharon and Dan joining her at SunRiver. You see, Sharon and Dan are not just close friends, but also Sharon is Dot’s daughter. Dan, after 39 years, of being Dot’s son in law, may as well be a son.
Sharon and Dan met in college and both enjoyed careers as data processing managers at the department of motor vehicles in California. Sharon and Dan are building a home just up the street from Dot Foster, over looking the river. They are excited about the views of Pine Valley, and living in a brand new plan custom designed to their lot and one of a kind views.
While they may not be an internet sensation like Dot, they at least come from that prestigious pedigree.
Welcome Sharon and Dan Goetzman!
CS Tip: Candle Wax Removal
August 30th, 2010 by HoneyDawn McElyea No comments »To remove wax from carpeting or other fabric, try this trick. First scrape any excess off, then place a brown paper bag over the wax and run a warm iron over it. The wax will melt right into the bag! Continue moving the bag around as you pick up the wax so you are always using a clean section. If a little grease stain remains on the carpet, sprinkle with baking soda and allow to sit overnight before vacuuming, which will remove the grease resid
Celebrate Oktoberfest in Brian Head
August 30th, 2010 by Micheal Green No comments »Brian Head, Utah is surrounded by folklore and hoopla, much like the original German Oktoberfest. Since they seemingly go hand in hand, there is no better place in Utah to hold Oktoberfest than Brian Head’s resort. The Navajo Lodge, where the fest takes place, is located amongst the 500 acres of ski slopes on the beautiful resort. Over a weekend in September, the Oktoberfest activities roll on from 12noon to late evening. Afterwards guests can go to another bar in Brian Head or turn in for the night in one of the resorts fine rooms. Everything is authentic German from food to beverage to choice of song and dance. The lodge is located on north on Highway 143 in Brian Head’s, Utah.
Located at the Navajo Lodge from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm on Saturday and 12:00 noon until 5:00 pm on Sunday.
Home buyers reconsidering sales strategy
August 23rd, 2010 by Dalan Madsen No comments »Home Equity conversion mortgage (HECM) is having a big impact on sales at SunRiver St. George. Many buyers who have been waiting to get top dollar for their homes, and move to SunRiver, are now considering a HECM mortgage as a viable alternative to a traditional sale.
SunRiver Sales had a recent purchase where a individual bought a home with a purchase price of $235,000, normally a 20% ($47,000) down payment would be required with a mortgage payment of approximately $1,200 per month. By utilizing a HECM, this individual put $58,000 down, and makes no monthly mortgage payment for the rest of their life.
This is a FHA insured loan and is available to anyone that meets some general criteria (primarily 62 years old)
To take advantage of record low interest rates and for qualification details call the SunRiver sales office at (888) 688-6556

August 16th, 2010 by Micheal Green No comments »Here Comes the Rodeo!
Sponsored by the St. George Lion’s Club, the Dixie Roundup Rodeo embraces southern Utah’s agricultural and ranching heritage. The Roundup is approved by the Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association, which helps the rodeo attract the most-skilled and competitive cowboys. Because of the involvement of the Lion’s Club, there is always a charitable element to the rodeo, with funds going to causes such as breast cancer awareness.
The Roundup features not only traditional rodeo events, but also a Dixie Roundup Pageant, western dances, live music, as well as a parade through downtown. For the little cowpokes, there are also kids’ rodeo events and a special children’s parade.
