DOCUTAH

The 2017 DOCUTAH International Documentary Film Festival will be held on the campus of Dixie State University on September 4–7, 2017. Each year, the DOCUTAH Festival brings together documentarians including independent filmmakers, aspiring film students, citizens of the world and the St. George community to shed light on a wide variety of topics through film.

Filmmakers attend DOCUTAH to introduce their films, hold Q&A sessions after the screenings and participate in DOCtalk, intimate conversations where audience members can learn more about the filmmaking process and the business of film.

Of particular interest to local residents is this year’s world premiere of Tuacahn – Miracle in Padre Canyon. Directed by Phil Tuckett and Ben Braten, this brand new film will shed light on the history of  Tuacahn Center for the Arts – from its ancient roots as an Anasazi hunting ground to its present fame as one of the country’s premier outdoor amphitheaters, all woven through the development of its current musical season.

Other films screening at this year’s festival include Tokyo Idols, Forever ‘B’, Show Me Democracy and This is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous.
