Coyote Tales at Center for the Arts in Kayenta

Come experience Coyote Tales at Center for the Arts at Kayenta! Coyote Tales are live, open mic-style storytelling events for amateur and experienced storytellers. Each event has a theme on which stories are to be based – this month's theme is “Frenemies.” Potential storytellers may address that theme in any way they choose. Prior to the event, storytellers craft their true, on-theme story, practice the telling (5 minutes or less) and work on eliminating excess detail to nail the perfect ending. When the doors open, storytellers put their name in the hat in hopes of being chosen to share their tale. If chosen, the storyteller takes the stage to delight the audience.

JAKE’S WOMEN AT THE NEIL SIMON FESTIVAL

The Neil Simon Festival returns with one of Simon’s funniest plays at the Center for the Arts at Kayenta!

Neil Simon’s hilarious exploration of lunacy and loss unfolds in the story of Jake, as he confronts the unraveling of his marriage… and his mind. A novelist more successful with fiction than with real life, Jake holds a series of make-believe conversations with the women throughout his life—his sister, his dead wife, his therapist and his daughter. As reality and fiction start to blur—in wildly comic and sometimes moving flashbacks—he begins to question his sanity.
