SunRiver St. George Residents: Science Presentation

This July marks the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing. In honor of Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins, our science club will show the new documentary, Apollo 11. The movie shows NASA photos and videos never released until now. Our successful moon landing marked America's victory in the "space race" against the Soviet Union. While the Apollo program was sold on a patriotic appeal to win the race to the moon, NASA considered the Apollo program to be a series of scientific missions. We've learned much from our natural satellite from Apollo. On Tuesday, July 9th Ron Smith will show how Apollo altered our theories about the origin of the moon. Please come and relive one our country's greatest success stories. Doors open at 5pm, Program starts at 5:30pm. You must purchase a ticket in advance. Popcorn tickets are $1 and can be purchased as late as noon on Tuesday, July 9th. Chicken wrap tickets are $5, and must be purchased before noon on Friday, the 5th. Seating is limited, so get your ticket today. Yes, fly me to the moon!
