Restaurant Highlight: Angelica’s Mexican Grill

Of the countless (and I mean countless) number of Mexican restaurants that populate St. George, it can be difficult to choose which one to try. How do you differentiate between one burrito and another? Does the rice make all the difference? The beans? The tortillas? Do you do fast-casual or sit-down? The options can be overwhelming and virtually endless.

However, one particular Mexican establishment in St. George is serving up culinary perfection head and shoulders above its many competitors: Angelica’s Mexican Grill.*

Located in the heart of downtown St. George on the Boulevard, Angelica’s specializes in Mexico City-style street food including street tacos, mulitas, tortas and other traditional Mexican delicacies. The charming hotspot is owned and operated by local Angelica Lancaster, and is by all means a family operation. (Her extended family takes shifts at the restaurant, giving patrons a friendly welcome and memorizing regular customers’ orders — even when it gets busy!) Choose from crispy shredded carnitas, grilled pollo asado, sweet deep-fried pork or a healthy portion of particularly delicious fajita vegetables for each entree, or mix and match to sample the best of everything. (But seriously, the deep-friend pork is to die for.) On your way back from the salsa bar, check out the hand-painted mural melding Utah’s Dixie with Angelica’s native Mexico.
