Much Ado About Nothing…Wild West Style!

Shakespeare’s beloved Beatrice and Benedick match wits in this Wild West adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing. Children, family and Shakespeare lovers alike will love this rip-roaring, gun-slingin’ version of the Bard’s rom-com.

Rich Hill and Zac Trotter, theatre teachers at Hurricane and Cedar High Schools, respectively, wanted to showcase the extraordinary talent of their recent high school graduates before they launched off to college and performing arts careers.

Much Ado seemed like the obvious choice for such a collaboration,” said Trotter, who is directing. “The play is about an older and a younger generation who intertwine themselves in each other’s lives.”

Hill, who co-produces and plays Leonato, was delighted to include former students in this production. “Now they’re not just former students, they’re colleagues,” he said.

The vibrant, rugged landscape surrounding Kayenta figures perfectly into this Wild West adaptation of one of the Bard’s most beloved comedies. Enjoy the fun and celebrate the depth of talent of our local actors and artists in this totally original production.

Much Ado About Nothing runs for one weekend only – from August 9-11 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets range from $10 to $30 and can be purchased by visiting the Center for the Arts at Kayenta website.
