Remembering September 11

This year, the citizens of St. George will be commemorating the sixteenth anniversary of September 11, 2001 with a special screening of the film United 93. Presented by Precision Hearing as part of its Monday Matinee series, the movie depicts a real-time account of the tragic events of United 93 – the flight that was downed by the heroic efforts of its passengers near Shanksville, Pennsylvania after being hijacked by terrorists on 9/11. While it will replace the weekly series’ typical choice of a classic movie, this powerful film reminds viewers of the spirit of the American people and the selfless sacrifice made by forty men and women on that fateful day.

United 93 will be screened at The Electric Theater (68 E Tabernacle St.) on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. Admission is free, but please be aware of the potentially sensitive, upsetting nature of the film’s content.
